Preview: Adams City Eagles vs. Gateway Olympians

Adams City is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Gateway is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Having just played yesterday, the Adams City Eagles will get right back to it and host the Gateway Olympians at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Adams City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Gateway likes a good challenge.

Even though Manual scored an imposing 69 points on Wednesday, Adams City still came out on top. Adams City enjoyed a cozy 86-69 victory over Manual.

Adams City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dajon Jones, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Jones scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jalen Mckinnies, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Gateway put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 62-24 victory over Skyview.

Adams City has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Gateway, their win bumped their record up to an identical 11-9.

Adams City suffered a grim 79-56 defeat to Gateway when the teams last played back in January. Will Adams City have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
