Baseball Game Preview: New Bloomfield Wildcats vs. Wheatland Mules

The New Bloomfield Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Wheatland Mules at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

New Bloomfield is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell 5-1 to Owensville on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Wheatland never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Buffalo as Wheatland made off with a 23-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mules in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won three in a row.

Nathan Sawyer was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Murphy, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

New Bloomfield skirted past Wheatland 5-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does New Bloomfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wheatland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
