Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Wildcats vs. East Juniata Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Greenwood Wildcats face off against the East Juniata Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday... Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Greenwood is headed into Thursday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-30 heartbreaker at the hands of Juniata. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, East Juniata came up short against Line Mountain on Tuesday and fell 54-43.

East Juniata has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Greenwood beat East Juniata 61-53 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
