Volleyball Recap: Racine Lutheran Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Racine Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights by a score of 2-1. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Mariyah Castro paced Racine Lutheran's offense, picking up seven kills. Castro got some help from Evie Gamroth and her ten assists. Castro was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Racine Lutheran now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Brookfield Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Racine Lutheran will square off against Palmyra-Eagle at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookfield Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against University School of Milwaukee at 6:45 p.m.
