Baseball Recap: Williams Yellowjackets vs. Quincy Trojans
Williams had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-15 to make it 12. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Quincy Trojans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.
As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Considering they have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Quincy's part, Jake Thackeray was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Warndorf, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
While Williams had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
