Basketball Recap: Toby Marsh and Zeke Johnson Secure Win for Christian Family Academy

Christian Family Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 67-63 W against the Community Christian Academy Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fire also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Christian Family Academy was led to victory by Zeke Johnson and Toby Marsh. Johnson went 11-for-21 to rack up 28 points, while Marsh dropped a double-double with 14 points and 22 boards. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least 27 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Danley, who posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Christian Family Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

As for Community Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. Their loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Community Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chaden Poole, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Poole is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of JeKobe Floyd, who scored 21 points and five boards.

Coming up, Christian Family Academy is taking a road trip to take on Nebo Crossing Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Community Christian Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 79-65 win against Challenger on the 4th.
