Cuero had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gobblers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2015.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Cuero who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-13.

Cuero's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Cuero didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Jones on the 16th. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against King on the 19th.
