Soccer Recap: Wake Forest Falls Short of New Hanover in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wake Forest can now relate to. They fell just short of the New Hanover Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Wake Forest were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the three matches prior), but New Hanover's defense proved too tough.

Wake Forest's goal came courtesy of C. Evans, who's now up to 12 this season.

Wake Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-5. As for New Hanover, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-2 record this season.

Wake Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Hanover, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Fuquay - Varina on the 10th.
