Volleyball Recap: Midview Takes a Loss

Midview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Steele Comets. The Middies were not able to make up for their loss to the Comets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Midview took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-16.

Carrie Hamm paced Midview's offense, picking up six kills. Hamm got some help from Delaney Pebworth and her 16 assists. Finally, Emily Martin kept Midview's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Steele found their leader in sophomore Callie Beckler, who had six digs and two aces. Beckler is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Amalee Caldera also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Midview now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Steele, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Midview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against North on the 13th. As for Steele, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Wooster on the 13th.
