Preview: Berean Academy Eagles vs. Western SciTech Aztec Warrior
The Berean Academy Eagles are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Western SciTech Aztec Warrior at 12:00 p.m. on November 18th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Berean Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Ajo, posting a 38-6 victory on the road. Considering Berean Academy has won six matches by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Berean Academy can attribute much of their success to Logan Sealey, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Sealey has been hot recently, having posted six or more solo tackles the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Bethea, who picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Western SciTech faced Skyline Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Western SciTech enjoyed a cozy 37-20 win over Skyline Prep on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for Western SciTech who now have four in a row.
Their wins bumped Berean Academy to 10-0 and Western SciTech to 7-1.
Berean Academy strolled past Western SciTech in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 32-14. Will Berean Academy repeat their success, or does Western SciTech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
