Basketball Game Preview: Trego Golden Eagles vs. Hoxie Indians

The Trego Golden Eagles will challenge the Hoxie Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Trego came up short against Ellis and fell 40-29. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bailey Ziegler, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegan Lang, who earned 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Hoxie entered their tilt with Oakley on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 52-41 win over the Plainsmen.

Hoxie's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Trego, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Trego was dealt a bruising 58-17 loss at the hands of Hoxie when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Trego was down 38-9.
