Recap: Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS vs. Deer Park Wildcats

The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over Deer Park. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Madeira got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Manning out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aidan Hopewell, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Madeira's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-14. As for Deer Park, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madeira will take on Lockland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Madeira focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Deer Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. Williamsburgpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Deer Park in Ohio (Williamsburg is ranked 185th, while Deer Park is ranked 670th).
