Basketball Recap: New Jerusalem Christian Academy Eagles vs. Grace Christian Patriots

New Jerusalem Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grace Christian Patriots on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-47 back in November of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donathan Edwards, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 19 points. Elijah Marcellus was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

Grace Christian had a senior duo take command as Will Hawes posted 15 points and three blocks and Mark Dudley had 15 points along with five boards and three steals. Dudley's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Creech, who earned four points and four steals.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Grace Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

As of now, neither New Jerusalem Christian Academy nor Grace Christian have any future games scheduled.
