Softball Recap: Momence Momence Athletics vs. Beecher Bobcats

Momence had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-10 to make it seven. They came up short against the Beecher Bobcats, falling 14-1. Momence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydnee Vanswol, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Payton Wigmore also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lorenzatti has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Makenzie Johnson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Ava Olson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Beecher beat Momence by a score of 15-0 later that day.
