Baseball Game Preview: Morgan City Tigers vs. Delcambre Panthers

The Morgan City Tigers will square off against the Delcambre Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan City will be strutting in after a win while Delcambre will be coming in after a defeat.

Morgan City took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over A.J. Ellender.

Thomas Mancuso was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Solar, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Delcambre's offense. They came up short against Vermilion Catholic on Monday, falling 16-0. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Delcambre's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Morgan City, their win bumped their record up to 10-23.

Morgan City beat Delcambre 10-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
