Volleyball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. San Ysidro Cougars

The Castle Park Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the San Ysidro Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Castle Park came up short against Southwest SD and fell 3-1. The Trojans have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

San Ysidro won the last time they faced Chula Vista, and Ryan Nance did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday thanks in part to Nance, who had 17 digs and six aces. He has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times he's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-23, 23-25, 25-8.

Castle Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for San Ysidro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Castle Park couldn't quite get it done against San Ysidro when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
