Shepherd and Onalaska are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shepherd has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

Livingston hit Shepherd with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates came up short against the Lions, falling 8-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Onalaska took on Trinity on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won six games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Onalaska and bumps their season record up to 9-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Shepherd, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Everything went Shepherd's way against Onalaska in their previous meeting back in February, as Shepherd made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
