Preview: West Chargers vs. Leavenworth PIONEERS
After four games on the road, West is heading back home. They will take on the Leavenworth PIONEERS at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Leavenworth took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, West didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Basehor-Linwood, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory.
West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamoni Ford, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Noonoo, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Leavenworth took a serious blow against Piper on Tuesday, falling 61-26. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leavenworth in their matchups with Piper: they've now lost five in a row.
West's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Leavenworth, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7-1.
West didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Leavenworth in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. Does West have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leavenworth turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
