Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

Mesa has won seven straight games at home, while Red Mountain has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Mesa Jackrabbits will take on the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mesa is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Skyline: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Mesa blew Skyline out of the water with a 69-27 final score. The Jackrabbits have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakyi Miles, who went 9 of 13 to rack up 25 points and five rebounds. What's more, Miles also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jarren Galarza, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Red Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View on Friday, taking the game 56-47. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Toros: they've now won four in a row.

Mesa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36% in those games and 28.2% outside of them. As for Red Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.
