Volleyball Game Preview: Round Lake Panthers vs. North Chicago Warhawks

Round Lake hasn't had much luck against North Chicago recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Round Lake is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 35th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Grayslake North.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, North Chicago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Westlake Christian Academy. While the Warhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-16 in the first set.

North Chicago came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-22, 28-26.

North Chicago's loss dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Round Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-26.

Round Lake couldn't quite get it done against North Chicago in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
