Walled Lake Northern had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Milford Mavericks as they made off with a 17-6 win. Considering the Knights have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Walled Lake Northern's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Milford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Walled Lake Northern and Milford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Knights will face off against Walled Lake Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 136). Meanwhile, Milford (ranked 167th) will meet Kettering (ranked 394th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
