There's no place like home for Cate, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ojai Valley Spuds with a sharp 9-3 win on Thursday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Spuds recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Quinn Pullen was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Pullen was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Pullen wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Meyer, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Noah Casbarro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Cate back to even at 1-1.

Cate will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valley Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on March 20th. As for Ojai Valley, they will face off against Nordhoff at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
