Recap: Hertford County Bears vs. Nash Central Bulldogs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hertford County Bears can now relate to. They fell just short of Nash Central by a score of 71-68. Hertford County's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
James Rodgers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 313 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per carry. Rodgers really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Javaris Jones was another key contributor, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
Hertford County's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Nash Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Hertford County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nash Central will head out on the road to face off against Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
