Basketball Game Preview: Lake Washington Kangaroos vs. Woodinville Falcons

Lake Washington is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Woodinville is on a 11-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Lake Washington Kangaroos will welcome the Woodinville Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Woodinville likes a good challenge.

Lake Washington picked up another tournament win on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 63-38 margin over St. Ignatius College Preparatory. The Kangaroos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Woodinville had just enough and edged Prosser out 64-61 on Monday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Mustangs are ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Woodinville's win came from a few key players Lake Washington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hailey Quiggle, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Wille, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards.

Woodinville's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Lake Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Things could have been worse for Lake Washington, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-41 loss to Woodinville in their previous matchup back in December of 2019.
