Aurora East has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 29. They and the Elgin Maroons finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for Aurora East as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mariel Lopez was the only thing that stood between Aurora East and a shutout considering she scored both of Aurora East's goals, bringing her season total up to 15 goals.

Aurora East's draw gives them a new season record of 9-11-2. As for Elgin, they moved theirs to 15-4-2.

Aurora East didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Elmwood Park on the 14th. As for Elgin, they won't get a chance for a more definitive result for a while: they'll take on South Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st. South Elgin will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Elgin surely won't give up without a fight.
