Basketball Recap: Brookhaven's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a proper cat-fight when Brookhaven challenged North Pike on Tuesday. The game between the Brookhaven Panthers and the North Pike Jaguars didn't end well, with the Brookhaven Panthers falling 49-35. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

North Pike found their leader in sophomore Kadence Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. De'Asia Hudson was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

With the defeat, Brookhaven broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-8. As for North Pike, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookhaven will host Natchez at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Pike, they will welcome Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
