Basketball Game Preview: Oscar Smith Tigers vs. King's Fork Bulldogs

The Oscar Smith Tigers will head out to challenge the King's Fork Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oscar Smith knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully King's Fork likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Oscar Smith strolled past Lakeland with points to spare, taking the game 83-69. The Tigers pushed the score to 66-43 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cavaliers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, King's Fork came tearing into Tuesday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 76-41 win over the Grizzlies. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

King's Fork pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.5 points per game. As for Oscar Smith, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Oscar Smith won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, slipping by King's Fork 65-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oscar Smith since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
