Baseball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Triumphs

Mt. Pulaski had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tuscola Warriors 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hilltoppers have posted since April 29th.

Mt. Pulaski pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season.

Mt. Pulaski didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on the 28th. Tuscola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
