Soccer Recap: St. Michael Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Willow

St. Michael kept a clean sheet against Willow on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Willow Lions, sneaking past 1-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Lions are ranked sixth).

St. Michael's one-goal win came courtesy of Evan Naquin, who's now up to nine this season.

St. Michael now has a winning record of 5-4-2. As for Willow, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Michael will be home for the holidays to greet Holy Cross at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Willow will take on Livingston Collegiate Academy in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
