Basketball Recap: Federal Hocking Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Federal Hocking can now relate to. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 71-56 to the Harvest Prep Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-61 back in December of 2024.

Maliyah Lofton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten assists for Harvest Prep. Lofton's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Janay Carter was another key player, putting up 13 points and six boards.

Federal Hocking's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Harvest Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Federal Hocking does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harvest Prep, they have already played their next game, a 43-29 loss against Fort Frye on the 1st.
