Lyons extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ava Vasquez. The Lyons Lions came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-43 W against the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes which was due in part to Vasquez, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 18 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Leora Hagan was another key player, going 5-for-9 on her way to 12 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in shooting accuracy (56%).

Despite the loss, Bishop Machebeuf still got an impressive performance from Justina Cichos, who dropped a double-double with 16 boards and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Penelope Mikita, who posted 13 points and six steals.

Lyons pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Lyons will be taking part in a tournament against Union Colony Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lyons is facing Union Colony Prep at the right time seeing as Union Colony Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bishop Machebeuf, they will head out to square off against SkyView Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
