Football Game Preview: Monument Valley Cougars vs. Monticello Buckaroo + Official Tickets

Monument Valley hasn't had much luck against Monticello recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Buckaroo at 6:00 p.m. Monument Valley has given up an average of 52 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monument Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Whitehorse, who was ranked fifth at the time (Monument Valley was ranked 11th). The Cougars were dealt a 74-20 defeat at the hands of the Raiders on Friday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monticello, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-6 victory over Water Canyon. Considering the Buckaroo have won four matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Monument Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Monument Valley took a serious blow against Monticello in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, falling 60-14. Thankfully for the Cougars, Jay Mcdonald (who rushed for 50 yards and one TD, and also threw for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
