Softball Recap: Buffalo Grove Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maine South, Buffalo Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Niles West Wolves by a score of 8-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bison also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Erin Ryan was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (two). Another player making a difference was Sammi Wolverton, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Buffalo Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Buffalo Grove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Niles West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Buffalo Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-5 loss against Glenbrook North on the 10th. As for Niles West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 17-9 defeat against Whitney Young on the 10th.
