Volleyball Recap: Huntington North Vikings vs. New Haven Bulldogs

Huntington North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Haven Bulldogs. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Huntington North took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 15-10.

New Haven's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sa Ailok Htut, who had seven digs and five assists. That's the most digs Htut has posted over his last six games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zarhit Lay, who had eight digs and seven assists.

Huntington North's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for New Haven, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Huntington North has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fort Wayne South Side on the 29th. New Haven has also already played their next match (against Woodlan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
