Volleyball Recap: Fayetteville Lions vs. High Island Cardinals
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fayetteville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the High Island Cardinals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
While Fayetteville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-22.
Cambree Denham paced Fayetteville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Denham got some help from
Scotti Beseda and her 32 assists. Beseda was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Fayetteville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season. As for High Island, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Fayetteville will challenge Richards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richards will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Fayetteville surely won't give up without a fight. High Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
