Baseball Recap: Steele Victorious

Steele and East Central pushed the score to 12-7 the last time they played East Central, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Hornets 2-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Steele got a great performance from RJ Hernandez as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.1 innings pitched. Hernandez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Knights are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-8-2 otherwise.

The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 6-9-2. As for East Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
