Albuquerque is 8-2 against West Mesa since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Albuquerque has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Albuquerque didn't have quite enough to beat Rio Grande and fell 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Gabriel Pohl was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abran Vigil, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Meanwhile, West Mesa came up short against Atrisco Heritage Academy on Tuesday and fell 6-3.

West Mesa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Armoni Baca, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Albuquerque's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for West Mesa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Albuquerque was able to grind out a solid victory over West Mesa in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
