Basketball Recap: Mason Kuehn Key Part of a Team Effort in Rangers Win

Vista Ridge won the last time they faced Cedar Ridge and things went their way on Friday too. The Vista Ridge Rangers walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Cedar Ridge Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Vista Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Kuehn led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Howard, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Luke Irwin and Randall Guidry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Irwin posted five points, while Guidry scored eight points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Guidry has posted since back in November of 2024.

The win got Vista Ridge back to even at 15-15. As for Cedar Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season.

Vista Ridge will face off against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for Cedar Ridge, they will challenge McNeil at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
