Softball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian lost against Union Grove Christian on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougar fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Cougar have lost by just one run.

Calvary Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Celia Scott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Scott is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Joy Waldroup also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Calvary Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Union Grove Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian will venture away from home to square off against Oak Level Baptist Academy at 3:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Union Grove Christian, they will head out to take on True Gospel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Grizzly at the right time seeing as the Grizzly are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
