Volleyball Recap: Raleigh Christian Academy Beats Shining Light Academy for Their Fifth Straight Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Raleigh Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Shining Light Academy Knights as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Raleigh Christian Academy took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-7, 25-9.

Raleigh Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Jenna Hopkins, who had three digs and three aces. Hopkins is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Becki Harris, who had five digs and three aces.

Raleigh Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Shining Light Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Raleigh Christian Academy and Southview Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shining Light Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
