Basketball Game Preview: West Charlotte Lions vs. North Mecklenburg Vikings

West Charlotte is 0-10 against North Mecklenburg since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The West Charlotte Lions will be playing at home against the North Mecklenburg Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when West Charlotte challenged Chambers on Tuesday. West Charlotte fell 73-66 to Chambers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Cougars are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, North Mecklenburg waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 62-53.

North Mecklenburg pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points over those games. As for West Charlotte, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
