The Franklin Wildcats will face off against the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Franklin took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against River City as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Leilani Garcia looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Micayla Arlotto was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Pham, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Laguna Creek made sure to put some runs up on the board against Nevada Union on Monday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Miners. The Cardinals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 14-0).
Nikiya Jumpingbull tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Laguna Creek let Jazmine Johnson and Mia Gonzalez run wild. Johnson went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Kate Saxton was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Franklin's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10-1. As for Laguna Creek, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Franklin skirted past Laguna Creek 2-1 in their previous matchup on April 4th. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
