Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Springfield was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the Washington Panthers. If Springfield was looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to Washington when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Springfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Jenkins, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Springfield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Springfield beat Washington by a score of 4-1 later that day.
