Football Game Preview: Mansfield Wolverines vs. Winnfield Tigers + How To Watch

The Mansfield Wolverines will take on the Winnfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Winnfield will be up against a hot Mansfield squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wolverines claimed a resounding 45-14 victory over Rosepine.

Mansfield's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Terrell Pegues, who rushed for 109 yards and three TDs on only five carries. Pegues' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jaterrious Howard, who threw for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mansfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Winnfield came up short against Many, falling 61-40.

Winnfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mansfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Mansfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Winnfield in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory.
