After losing to Pelham the last time they met, Calhoun County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Calhoun County Cougars slipped by the Pelham Hornets 46-45 on Friday.

Despite the loss, Pelham saw an underclassman step up: freshman De'Asiayah Johnson posted ten points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylaisha Almond, who put up seven points and 17 boards.

Calhoun County's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Pelham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun County will take on Johnson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson County will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Calhoun County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pelham, they will head out on the road to challenge Hancock Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pelham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.
