Softball Recap: Urbana Tigers vs. Arcola Purple Riders

While it was Urbana who put the first points on the board on Thursday, it was Arcola who put up more. The Urbana Tigers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arcola Purple Riders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Urbana of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

KAYA HILL made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

On Arcola's side, Kacie Sisk made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Sisk has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Sisk was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run.

In other batting news, Arcola let Ava Simpson and Ema Simpson loose on the outfield. Simpson scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Simpson went 2-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run.
