Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin lost against Eastwood back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars fell 5-2 to the Troopers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

ISAIAH MATA made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He has become a key player for Franklin: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-17-1 otherwise.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 7-18-1. As for Eastwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9-1 record this season.

Franklin has already played their next contest, a 20-7 defeat against Socorro on the 15th. As for Eastwood, they will host Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Troopers are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Thunderbirds a six-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
