Softball Recap: Bishop Watterson Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Watterson duked it out with Bishop Hartley on Monday. The Eagles fell 13-8 to the Hawks. The Eagles have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Clare Feehan and Alexa Ray did some serious damage despite the final result: Feehan went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Ray went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Mayhan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Bishop Watterson's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bishop Hartley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bishop Watterson and Bishop Hartley will both be playing St. Francis DeSales the next time they take the field. The Hawks will head out to face the Stallions at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
