Baseball Game Preview: Waukee Warriors vs. Valley Tigers

Waukee hasn't had much luck against Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Waukee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Waukee came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Waverly-Shell Rock, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since July 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Valley faced Sioux City East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Black Raiders by a score of 4-3.

Waukee's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season.

Waukee couldn't quite finish off Valley in their previous meeting on June 11th and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
