Recap: Pathway Christian vs. Varsity Opponent
Pathway Christian's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Pathway Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on Friday.
Pathway Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Denver Nelson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The match was Nelson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Preston Yutzy, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Pathway Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Varsity Opponent, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 206-773-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pathway Christian will take on Tri-State Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent will finish 2023 at home by hosting Eastmoor Academy at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Eastmoor Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three contests.
